International geodata award for Naalakkersuisut

Naalakkersusut has received an international award for the strategic work with geodata and sustainable community development in the National Strategy for Geodata 2018-2021.

In the National Strategy for Geodata 2018-2021, the Naalakkersuisut has chosen sustainable development as one of five overall strategic goals for the further development of the geodata area. There is a great societal potential for using geodata and the work of creating a greater coherence in the geodata area in Greenland resulted in 2018 in an international GIS award from the recognized Esri in the USA.

As motivation for awarding the prize, the work of involving users of geodata in the greenlandic society and thinking cross-sectional holistic solutions was emphasized. At NunaGIS you can read more about the award and the National Strategy for Geodata 2018-2021.
