Debate about Greenland's future on Facebook

New facebook page from the Department of Constitution in the Ministry of Finance will ensure debate about the work on a new constitution and everything that binds and unites us as a nation.

The new facebook page was launched on 21 June 2020 and is tentatively called Kalaallit Nunaata siunissaa / Greenland's future. According to Naalakkersuisoq for Finanser, the goal of the site is to create a common digital memory collection that would like to tell us what binds us together - and what we have in common, no matter who we are, where we come from and what we want here in life.

“Even though we are very different, there are still many things that bind us together. Whether you live in the north or south, young or old, from a village or town or grew up in our country or come from outside, we have a number of experiences and events in common. It is right from our food culture, national day on 21 June, the children's first day of school, ullukinneq, coffee mike, fishing and hunting trips, that we have in common ”, explains Vittus Qujaukitsoq, Naalakkersuisoq for Finance, and continues:

“When we work together on a common constitution, and gradually work towards an autonomous Greenland, it is extremely relevant to find out what unites us as a nation. That is why I would very much like to encourage everyone to contribute your personal story on all the topics we share,” explains an enthusiastic Vittus Qujaukitsoq.

The topics will be as described in the above, but also topics such as our colonial past and its positive and negative consequenses, descriptions of the many people who in their field have contributed to the development of our country, both culturally, linguistically and politically - as well as uncovering the many perspectives of ordinary citizens on issues such as the constitution and autonomy.

The format becomes an interaction between posts, videos, infographics and images The goal is for the department to post a story on a regular basis.
